Trevor Cook joined Baines Goldston in 1981 after qualifying with another local firm. He became a partner of Baines in 1985 and has subsequently built up a large and interesting portfolio. He has extensive experience with a number of health care and professional clients and acts as specialist to the firm in these areas.
Married with two children, Trevor lives in Norton and despite protestations from his fellow partners still plays squash on a regular basis.
Michael Bigley
Mike joined the firm in 1980 after completing his degree in accounting at Sheffield University. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1983 and became a Fellow of the Institute in 1993.
A partner since 1988, Mike has a wide portfolio of clients covering many sectors of business but is also the IT specialist within the firm and a registered consultant with Business Link. He and his team have worked with a number of businesses to help upgrade their IT systems and enhance the quality and flow of management information.

Jed Lester
Jed joined Jewitt Sparrow & Swinbank (later known as Jewitts) in 1980. He was an articled clerk to Alan Cook, the then senior partner in that firm, prior to qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1984. Jed then became a partner in Jewitts in 1989 and a Fellow of the ICAEW in 1994.
His diverse portfolio of clients includes a number of family businesses. Jed also has a particular leaning towards, and day to day involvement with, numerous charities and other not for profit organisations, including members' societies, churches and registered social landlords. In this latter regard, he is a board member and chair of the audit sub-committee of North Star Housing Group and a board member/immediate past chair of Endeavour Housing Association.
Married, with two young daughters, Jed has a leisure time interest in most sports, albeit primarily as a spectator!
Janet Holden
Janet was appointed tax partner with effect from 1 April 2003, having run the personal tax department since the introduction of self assessment. She also specialises in capital gains tax planning and is a focal point of contact and reference within the office for all tax matters.
Her appointment strengthened the firm's senior management team against the background of ongoing growth and development.
Donald Adams
Don joined Jewitts, known then as Jewitt, Sparrow and Swinbank, as a trainee chartered accountant on a four-year training contract in June 1989, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1993. Working predominantly under Howard Murray for the next ten years, Don gained valuable and wide-ranging experience in all aspects of accountancy and taxation work for individuals and owner-managed businesses.
Don was made a partner in Jewitts on 1st October 2002 and now looks after his own, growing, portfolio of local clients.
Don became a Fellow of the Institute on 1st December 2003.
Anne Cowley
Anne joined the firm from university on a graduate training contract and worked her way up to senior audit manager, a position she held for a number of years before being appointed a partner with effect from 1 April 2003.
In addition to the audit function, Anne specialises in due diligence work and company secretarial matters and has been responsible for completion of some complicated due dilligence reporting requirements in recent times, working closely with banks and other interested parties.
