Local Accountants Race For Life - 24/06/08A group of ladies from Teesside based accountants Baines Jewitt is dusting off their running shoes in aid of charity. The team of six is taking part in the 5 kilometre Race for Life on Saturday 21st June at Ormesby Hall in Middlesbrough. The event is a women only race to raise money on behalf of Cancer Research UK, which is also the major supporter of breast cancer research in the UK. This year’s race is not the team’s first, however, with Baines Jewitt representatives taking part in Race for Life every year since 2003. The firm has also been involved in other fundraising activities including a ‘pink day’ at the office in aid of the Breast Cancer Campaign and has also raised money for children’s hospice Zoe’s Place and the Lupus Foundation. The six women involved are Suzanne Barker, Nicky Johns, Angie Wardle, Sarah Collett, Hazel Stout, and Hilary Morton, and also joined by a younger addition – Suzanne Barker’s daughter Charlotte. The team varies in levels of fitness; Hazel Stout, who is a keen runner, will be aiming to beat her personal best time and 12th place in 2007, whilst the rest of the team will be either jogging or walking to the finish line on what is always a very emotional and enjoyable day for a very worthwhile cause. For more information, or to sponsor the team, contact Baines Jewitt on 01642 632032
