Accountants Hit Right Note with Concert Sponsorship - 12/02/2009Stockton on Tees accountants Baines Jewitt will be swapping tricky tax issues for the sweet sound of violins, viola and cello by supporting a concert of classical music presented by a local music society. Baines Jewitt is sponsoring a concert on Sunday, 15 February by the highly regarded Pavão Quartet, which will be playing works by Elgar, Haydn and Ravel. The concert, at Stokesley Methodist Church, forms part of the latest winter season of high calibre chamber music presented by Teesside Music Society. The Pavão Quartet was formed in 1998 while its members studied at the Royal Academy of Music and has since performed with artists as varied as Charlotte Church, Il Divo, Katherine Jenkins, Sir Elton John and Pavarotti. As well as more than 50 classical quartets, the versatile group’s repertoire includes jazz, rock and pop and it has recorded a CD featuring George Gershwin standards. Baines Jewitt partner Jed Lester said: “We are delighted to help to contribute to the cultural life of our community by sponsoring this concert. “As a firm that is closely involved in local life, through our work with businesses and other professional advisers, we see our support for arts events like this concert as an important way to give something back to our community.” Further details on the Teesside Music Society are available by contacting honorary secretary Marion Bolton on 01642 817097.
