Former trainee Laura Walker from Middleton St George has become the latest employee at Baines Jewitt to achieve chartered accountancy status.
Laura’s development programme has involved working full-time at Baines Jewitt, whilst studying for professional exams to become a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).
Having already completed a four-year apprenticeship plus Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualifications, prior to joining Baines Jewitt, Laura started on a trainee chartered accountancy programme in 2022.
To achieve chartered status, Laura has undertaken in-depth hands-on training, passed a series of rigorous examinations in financial management, auditing, business strategy and taxation, and committed to continuing professional development to keep her skills up to date.
On congratulating Laura on her success, Baines Jewitt director Don Adams said: “Laura is a valuable member of our team. As well as assisting with the preparation of accounts and audits, she has worked hard to achieve chartered accountancy status.
“In return, she has benefitted from a competitive salary, an attractive employee-based benefits package and our employer-supported professional training programme, which includes paid study leave and good routes for career progression.’’
