One of Baines Jewitt’s employees has received a special award for excelling in their professional accountancy exams.

Laura Walker beat stiff competition to be named winner of a ‘CU Peat Prize,’ which acknowledges students who have stood out in the Professional or Advanced stages in the 2024 Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) examinations.

The CU Peat Prize – named after former Darlington MP Charles Urie Peat – recognises students’ success in the Institute of Chartered Accountants’ qualifying exams.

“As well as outstanding exam results, the award nominations formally recognise the brightest accountancy minds in the area. Award winners were announced at the Northern Chartered Accountant Students’ Society (NCASS) Teesside Annual Dinner at Acklam Hall, Middlesbrough.  As an award winner, Laura received a certificate and an inscribed pen.
