{"id":3559,"date":"2020-05-13T10:45:47","date_gmt":"2020-05-13T10:45:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/?p=3559"},"modified":"2020-05-13T10:45:50","modified_gmt":"2020-05-13T10:45:50","slug":"self-employment-income-support-scheme-open-for-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/self-employment-income-support-scheme-open-for-business\/","title":{"rendered":"Self-Employment Income Support Scheme open for business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) is now open for business, weeks ahead of schedule.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>First announced in March, the landmark capital grant scheme is designed to help self-employed workers affected by Covid-19 recover from financial distress.<\/p>\n<p>According to HM Treasury, the scheme will open to self-employed individuals or members of partnerships whose\u202fbusiness has been adversely affected by\u202fcoronavirus from 8am this morning, Wednesday 13 May, allowing them to apply for a grant worth up to 80 per cent of their average monthly profits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Am I eligible?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The SEISS is available to those earning less than \u00a350,000. This is calculated using the average of 2016\/17, 17\/18 and 18\/19 tax returns (if applicable).
