If you receive one of these emails, do not open it and report it to the relevant authority.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>According to the alert, the email is sent from the contact \u2018noreply@cpgov.uk\u2019 with the following message:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cCompany Complaint<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This message has been generated in response to the company complaint submitted to Companies House.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>(CC01) Company Complaint for the above company was accepted on 04\/24\/2018.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The email will then ask you to open an attachment or log in to your account via a link. This will lead to a phishing site designed to steal your username and password, which fraudsters could use to carry out identity fraud.<\/p>\n<p>The Government has asked any recipients of this email to forward them to <a href=\"mailto:phishing@companieshouse.gov.uk\">phishing@companieshouse.gov.uk<\/a> as soon as possible and to not open any attachments.<\/p>\n<p>It has also reminded business owners and directors that it will <strong>never ask<\/strong> for your Companies House authorisation code.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, please click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/reporting-fraud-about-a-company-to-companies-house\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Government has alerted business owners and directors to a new scam email professing to be from Companies House.
