{"id":1577,"date":"2016-11-03T09:20:38","date_gmt":"2016-11-03T09:20:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/?p=1577"},"modified":"2016-11-03T09:20:38","modified_gmt":"2016-11-03T09:20:38","slug":"smes-expected-to-be-worth-217bn-to-economy-by-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/smes-expected-to-be-worth-217bn-to-economy-by-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"SMEs expected to be \u2018worth \u00a3217bn to economy by 2020\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New research suggests that Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) across the UK\u2019s largest cities will contribute approximately \u00a3217billion to Britain\u2019s economy by 2020.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The news follows a study carried out by the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) in collaboration with Hampshire Bank Trust, which suggests that the UK\u2019s \u201ctop ten cities\u201d will welcome mass SME growth over the next few years.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, their report claims that SME contributions to the UK economy as a whole will rise by 11 per cent from 2015 to 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, SMEs reportedly contributed \u00a3196bn.
