{"id":1449,"date":"2016-08-15T10:48:47","date_gmt":"2016-08-15T10:48:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/?p=1449"},"modified":"2016-08-15T10:48:47","modified_gmt":"2016-08-15T10:48:47","slug":"calls-to-increase-apprenticeship-support-and-incentives-for-smes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/calls-to-increase-apprenticeship-support-and-incentives-for-smes\/","title":{"rendered":"Calls to increase apprenticeship support and incentives for SMEs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A report published by the National Federation of Self Employed &amp; Small Businesses (FSB) has suggested that, under increased Government support, UK businesses could deliver approximately 1 million more apprenticeships.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>According to the FSB, approximately one in four Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the UK currently employ apprentices \u2013 and a further one in four have their sights set on employing apprentices in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>FSB chairman Mike Cherry said that the UK was facing a \u201cmake-or-break moment,\u201d after a report suggested that, amongst Britain\u2019s 4.7 million SMEs, there was potential to \u2018double\u2019 the number of apprenticeships on offer \u2013 should the Government successfully deliver increased support.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cWhile many small firms are committed to apprenticeships, many more continue to be worried about the time and personal commitment required.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSmaller businesses are taking on more apprentices than ever before.
