{"id":1290,"date":"2016-04-28T10:52:52","date_gmt":"2016-04-28T10:52:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/?p=1290"},"modified":"2016-04-28T10:52:52","modified_gmt":"2016-04-28T10:52:52","slug":"hmrcs-online-rebrand-shakes-up-services-for-tax-agents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/hmrcs-online-rebrand-shakes-up-services-for-tax-agents\/","title":{"rendered":"HMRC\u2019s online rebrand shakes up services for tax agents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an official statement published by the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT), HM Revenue &amp; Customs (HMRC) recently announced a dramatic shake-up of its online services for tax agents.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In coming months, HMRC intend to effectively rebrand their Agent Online Self Service (AOSS) system to a whole new system entirely, named Agent Services (AS).<\/p>\n<p>The shake-up will bring with it a number of changes to the ways in which tax agents use HMRC\u2019s online services.<\/p>\n<p>Toni Clark, Head of Digital Engagement at HMRC, outlined four key changes which will be incorporated into the new AS system:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u2018Authorisation\u2019<\/strong> \u2013 which will enhance existing online authorisation systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u2018Secure messaging\u2019<\/strong> \u2013 which will prioritise inbound secure messaging and help determine exactly what information agents wish to send HMRC, in hopes of improving future systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u2018On-boarding\u2019<\/strong> \u2013 which will enable agents to monitor their clients\u2019 personal and business tax accounts via new third party software.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u2018Subscription\u2019<\/strong> \u2013 which will allow AS itself to collect information about agencies and their affairs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mr Clark said: &#8220;[Agent Services] has now refreshed key priorities for 2016-17, and the revised name better reflects the scope of what HMRC aims to deliver for agents within this program of work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Additional information on the proposed changes, including when they will take effect, are yet to be announced.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In an official statement published by the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT), HM Revenue &amp; Customs (HMRC) recently announced a dramatic shake-up of its online services for tax agents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[7],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1290"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1290"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1290\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1291,"href":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1290\/revisions\/1291"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1290"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1290"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bainesjewitt.co.uk\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1290"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
