Running training on track
It’s been a busy month for some of our Baines Jewitt runners.
VAT Director Hilary Bevan ran the Asics Greater Manchester Marathon (26.2 miles) on 8 April. A year ago the furthest Hilary had run in one go was 3 miles. Talking of her achievement, she said: “The months of training has been hard going, especially with icy weather and fitting it in around the tax return deadline in January! I ran with my sister as our Christmas present to each other. My target time was 5 hours 30 and I did it in 5:23:43 so I am over the moon.”
In addition, Accounting Technician Gail Harbron took part in her first ‘official race,’ completing the Thirsk 10 Mile Road Race in a fantastic time of 1 hour 35 minutes. Gail said: “I ran it with my husband Ian who is my training partner and will be running the Great North Run with me. He stuck with me until the last mile and then managed to beat me by nearly 2 minutes!”
