Baines Jewitt receives longstanding contribution award
Baines Jewitt has been formally recognised for its contribution to the borough of Stockton-on-Tees.
Representing Baines Jewitt, director Jed Lester was presented with a special award by the outgoing mayor of Stockton, Councillor Maurice Perry, at the council’s annual meeting recently.
Baines Jewitt was one of 15 of Stockton’s businesses that were recognised for their longstanding contributions to the life and economy of the Borough. The companies, which have a combined age of almost 2,000 years, were commended for their efforts in employing local people and helping put Stockton on the map.
Talking at the ceremony, Mayor Perry said: “It is a privilege to present these awards to such a fantastic group of businesses that have worked so hard for so long.
“I know there’ll be a lot of the borough’s residents who have worked for one or more of the companies at some point in their lives and that goes to show how much of a widespread impact they have had on the Borough across the decades.”
