Baines Jewitt congratulates trainee chartered accountants on exam success - 17/07/2018
There has been more exam success for our trainee chartered accountants Grace and Lewis. Grace has passed ‘Financial Accounting and Reporting’ plus ‘Business Strategy and Technology.’ And Lewis has passed the ‘Tax Compliance’ and ‘Financial Management’ elements. This latest step forms part of a three year professional training programme to become an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).

Representing team England, we are delighted that Teesside swimmer Aimee Willmott scooped gold at the 2018 Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. In a close fought race to be crowned 400m Individual Medley champion, Aimee beat Scottish favourite Hannah Miley into second place. Aimee has had to overcome a number of challenges over the last year, including knee surgery, injury and a change of training base. Stockton Town Yellow Under 15s net fantastic wins, thanks to Baines Jewitt support - 04/04/2018
As well as supporting professional football, we like to get behind our local grass roots teams too. We’re delighted to sponsor ‘Stockton Town Yellow Under 15s,’ who are having a cracking season in Division 1 of the Teesside Junior Football Alliance (TJFA). The team has also secured a place in the semi-final of the League Cup on Sunday 8th April. Good luck lads! P.S. It has been a great week for the senior guys too, with Stockton Town F.C. making it through to the final of the FA Vase, which will take place at Wembley in May!

Baines Jewitt’s VAT Director, Hilary Bevan and our award-winning trainee chartered accountant, Ashleigh Smith, were invited to Teesside High in Eaglescliffe recently as part of the school's annual careers convention. The marketplace-style event was attended by dozens of pupils and their parents, as well as representatives from further and higher education and other leading businesses. In particular, the event provided an opportunity to discuss the different routes into accountancy as a worthwhile and rewarding career.
