Go-Karting event at Teesside Karting

On a fine, clear day in September clients, fellow professionals, partners and staff donned their racing helmets to participate in the third annual Baines Jewitt Corporate Karting Event. The competition involved 24 karts manned by teams of 3 drivers, participating in a 90 minute continuous ‘Endurance’ race at Teesside Autodrome, South Tees Motor Park in Middlesbrough.

The race was fiercely contested and even involved a steward’s enquiry on the last lap. Hamilton or Button would have struggled to keep up with the eventual winning team from clients Geocore Site Investigations Ltd, followed closely by the team from clients John B Smith & Company Ltd in second place. Sharing the podium in third place was the team entered by Handelsbanken.

The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants and spectators and an added bonus was the number of sponsors willing to contribute to Jed Lester, Partner, at Baines Jewitt who will be tackling Mount Kilimanjaro in 2012 to raise monies for Daisy Chain, a local charity which provides a range of services, including support and activity groups for children with autism.
