Passing With Flying Colours - 03/06/08

Baines Jewitt’s Hilary Bevan has passed her final accountancy exams with flying colours - and a remarkable achievement.
Hilary is now fully qualified after passing the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants’ (ACCA) exams, gaining the highest mark in the north-east of England region in her corporate reporting exam.
Her performance was so good that she achieved the 14th highest mark worldwide in the exam and in recognition of her achievement, Hilary was invited as a special guest to the ACCA annual dinner, held in Newcastle in April.
She began her career in accountancy with Baines Jewitt ten years ago, after completing her A levels. When she spotted an advertisement for a vacancy at the practice, she decided accountancy was a profession where she could put her flair for maths to good use.
Hilary initially qualified with the Association of Accounting Technicians, then took a break from her studies before starting her ACCA course three years ago. Now she is looking forward to developing her skills and experience further.
ACCA is a leading global professional body for accountants, supporting 122,000 members and 325,000 students worldwide.
